Weekly Menu 11/2 - 11/6

Hope everyone had a fun Halloween. We had much more trick or treaters than in the past which was fun & also means less leftover candy that HAS to be eaten.
This year's model
We had a lovely dry, sunny weekend so we spent it getting things ready around Chez Good Appetite for winter. I raked 16 bags of leaves from the yard, fingers-crossed that's it for the year (especially since this was already the second time I raked this year). Matt worked on getting the gardens all cleared out & cleaned out all the pots from the patio, a hard muddy job.
End of the Season
(the brussel sprouts look so lonely)
He also took advantage of the sunny weather to scrape & touch up some of the trim paint on the house. Seems like there is always so much to do. Next big project is the dreaded cleaning of the gutters.

On to Menu Planning Monday...

Asian Stuffed Mini Sweet Peppers

Pizza Bianca with Leeks & Prosciutto

Guinness Beef Stew over Mashed Potatoes

Thursday is eat what's leftover in the fridge day

Friday we are leaving for San Francisco for the Foodbuzz Festival

We'll also be making applesauce and bacon & lentil soup for lunches. Plus this week starts our 8 Weeks of Cookies leading up to Christmas.

  2. All our candy was gone in a hour! I'm so glad.
My husband and I used to manage self storage facilities. There was so much work to do. I don't remember many real days off.
The blessing was that we got fired in August. It feels so good to not have that work and to be able to spend time together, as a family.
Your family is going to love these meals.
    You have a great week!

  3. Boy, you both were busy Minnesota 'golden gophers' getting ready for winter. And by the photos, it looks great, too.

Your menu for the week is awesome. I love the idea of beef stew over mashed potatoes ~ hearty & good. The pizza sound interesting, also.

Keep these great post ideas coming and thanks.

  4. OK -- those Asian peppers look awesome... but I'm loving the rest of your week as well. Just the thought of Pizza Bianca is making me drool... and stew is definitely on our radar this time of the year.

As for the yard work -- tell me about it! We got the leaves raked this past weekend... but we're still working on cleaning out the gardens.
