Weekly Menu 5/4 - 5/9/10

This upcoming week really will really start to feel like summer is on the way. Thursday we'll be getting our first CSA box of this season. Boxes at this time of year up North were we are are kind of interesting with overwintered vegetables like parsnips & fresh spring greens like ramps. Then this Friday will be the Friends School Plant Sale. I discovered this sale last year with my cousin & it was such a great way to buy all sorts of vegetables & plants for our gardens. We took home quite a haul last year.
#130 - We did the sale
We won't be buying many vegetable plants this year though as our garden seems to be doing really well. The lettuce, kohlrabi, spinach & peas have all sprouted in the outdoor raised beds. Indoors, the tomatoes, broccoli, brussels sprouts & peppers have all been moved to bigger pots until they are ready to go outside. We are really looking forward to a summer full of fresh vegetables from our garden & the farm.

  2. That was quite a haul, wasnt it? Good for you starting all your plants from seed. I wanted to do that this year. Had every intention. I have been saving our paperish egg cartons just for it. Then time slips on by. Well I will be buying from a local lady. She has some heirloom tomatoes that I am looking forward to getting.
